There are many wonderful benefits from learning how to appropriately train your little dog and if any of you out there are confused on how this is accomplished then perhaps you should consider purchasing yourself some dog training books, they could really be quite helpful to you. Your dog is just pretty much there for you, to play and love and feed and whatever else that you see fit. Unless you properly and efficiently train them, that is about all that they are going to do. Well, that and chew up furniture, shoes and anything else that they can get their teeth into. Not only chewing but they will also probably bark entirely too much, for no apparent reason, along with not listening to anything that you try and say to them. This is why dog training is just absolutely necessary and important for anyone who is thinking about becoming a dog owner. There are countless dog training books out there, available for teaching anyone how to properly train their dogs and all it takes is just a little bit of reading, time and some patience.
If you really are consistent with your dog training abilities, your dog will reap from it and the benefits are so worth any amount of hassle that you might have had to go through in order to properly train them. You have the ability to purchase dog training books right from your home computer system because there are so many different websites available that do offer dog training books and usually they are fairly inexpensive. There is no way at all that you could possibly read up too much about dog training because there is just always something to be learned from it and it will be so rewarding for you and your dog if you could just take the time out to spend training them and teaching them everything that they need to know. Rewarding your dog is the best way to get them to do what you are wanting them to do and being persistent ofcourse. They learn when you repeat things over and over and before you know it, they could be as well trained and well behaved as any other wonderful and amazing dog out there and it does not matter which breed they are, they are all capable of learning.
Dog training books can be so very helpful and if you find some that interest you then you should continue with your readings because you might just be amazed as to how much useful information is in these types of books. Your dog will benefit from this tremendously and you will just be thrilled by the results, no doubt about that. Talk to a friend who has experienced dog training and ask them what they think of it or which dog training book they might recommend to you, that could be very helpful in properly training your dog.

You know those dog training classes they have at pet stores?

Would you ever take a cat to a training class like that? And yes, cats can be trained the same as dogs. So knowing that your cat could be trained the same as a dog, would you ever take your cat to a class to learn obedience or tricks?
Wow, really positive answers! I agree, I think it would bring a cat and owner closer, just like training a dog would. I don’t think many people think about that, though!
Does anyone know anywhere that offers those classes for cats?
Are dog training (shock) collars safe and do they work?

I am considering using a training collar to teach my dog boundaries. I need to be able to keep her off leash, but she runs off if I let her off the leash. A fence, even an invisible fence, is out of the question as its not my house. I’ve tried teaching her boundaries for the last 5 months but it is not working well. She won’t respond to “come” unless she’s in the mood. I want to use a shock collar but I worry it may be inhumane. Are they effective and are they safe to use?
